A day for people who already climb

Socorridos is a basalt gorge above Câmara de Lobos: steep walls, long pitches, shade until late morning. It is where we climb ourselves when we are not working.

The day is built around your level. Routes from 6a up, led or top-roped as you prefer, with a guide on the rope and the local knowledge: which lines are clean, which anchors are new, where the rock is sharp. No teaching from zero, no waiting for a first-timer to find the next hold.

The honest line: this is for people who already climb 6a, indoors or out. We do not check grades at booking, so be straight with yourself. If 6a is a stretch, the Beginner day at Ponta de São Lourenço is the better morning, same price.

Questions people ask

Do you check my grade?

No. We trust you to read the requirement. If it turns out 6a is a stretch, the guide adapts, but the routes at Socorridos start there and the morning is built for that level.

Can I bring my own gear?

Yes, your own shoes and harness are welcome. Ropes, quickdraws and helmets are ours.

I'm on my own. Can I book?

Yes. The day runs when at least two people are on it. If nobody else books your date we offer another date or a full refund, your call.

What if it rains?

Basalt dries fast, but wet rock is a no. If we have to call it off you choose: another date or a full refund.

Can I mix Beginner and Intermediate in one group?

Not on one day. A date runs one level, so a mixed group books two dates, or everyone joins the Beginner day.

Not quite 6a yet?

The Beginner day at Ponta de São Lourenço is the same price, on sea cliffs, and we teach everything from the ground up.
